Members and Friends of First Presbyterian Church,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Together, as a congregation in this place, we are called to celebrate the journey that really matters in life – the journey of faith.
As a congregation, we have inherited a tremendous heritage from the generations who have passed this way before. First Presbyterian Church has served as a beacon and witness of God’s love and grace in Jesus Christ for nearly 230 years without interruption. We have offered our witness to Jesus Christ from one generation to another.
Now, we sit at the opening of a new century, and also at the 100th anniversary of our wonderful building. This building has served our congregation well, providing a spiritual home in which God’s name has been praised in worship and the people of God have been equipped for service in this world.
The Session has called for a capital campaign to help provide for the maintenance and improvement of this house of worship. We deeply appreciate our spiritual home and realize that the generations that have come before have sacrificed and provided for us. It is only right that we would do the same for the generations to come.
Please review the important plans for improvements that you will find in these pages. Know that God has called us to celebrate the journey of faith as God’s own people – his congregation in this place.
Join with us then in providing for the future, so that others will celebrate this journey that God provides for us all.
